About Kai Kazi

Publishing, film, festivals, and a new world stage for basketball — one house.

Sixteen titles. Festival nights. Film. And a tournament built to put Canada on the world basketball map.

Kai Kazi is a Canadian cultural entrepreneur and founder of a vertically integrated media and live events company that develops high-impact storytelling platforms and experiential properties across publishing, film, and major public events.

Since 2015, Kazi has built a diversified portfolio of intellectual property and live experiences, including 16+ published titles, multiple film and documentary projects, and the creation of NPC Festival (also known as the NPC Festival of Montreal) — a large-scale hybrid gaming, cosplay, and cultural event that has established Montreal as an emerging hub for alternative culture and live entertainment in Canada.

Kazi now brings this expertise in content creation, community building, sponsorship activation, and large-scale event execution to international sports entertainment as Founder and Commissioner of the International Hoops Association (IHA) and its flagship property, the Golden Hoops Cup.

The IHA is developing a new model for global basketball: a single-elimination, March Madness-style tournament that unites talent from the USA, Canada, Europe, the GCC, Asia, and China. The inaugural 32-team Golden Hoops Cup is planned for September 2027 across Ottawa, Montréal, and Toronto — positioning Canada as a premier neutral, multicultural host for world-class sports entertainment.

Kazi’s vision is to create scalable sports properties that deliver economic impact, tourism value, media rights potential, and meaningful cross-cultural collaboration — with a particular focus on building bridges between Canadian investors and partners and GCC nations (Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE/Dubai) that are aggressively expanding their presence in global sports and entertainment.

With deep roots in Canadian creative industries, proven live-event execution, existing relationships in Riyadh and Dubai, and a forward-leaning approach to production and technology, Kazi is uniquely positioned to develop sports entertainment assets that resonate with both North American audiences and GCC strategic objectives.
